Spending Cuts to threaten Blackburn with Darwen Charities
Leaders of 15 of the biggest charitable organisations in Blackburn and Darwen have teamed up to outline their fears at the impending cuts. They have signed a joint letter to government in which they spell out how their charities are facing 'devastating' cuts of more than 50 per cent. For Nightsafe this means that upto £70,000 of funds is at risk.
Funding has become more and more difficult in the recent years with the financial crisis and regular budget cuts. Nightsafe relies heavily on donations and essential funding usually in conjunction with several other services so cuts to one charity or organisation directly effects others.
